The Pen of the Year 2009 represents an exclusive and individual sense of writing. Carefully ‘run in’ by hand, the 18-carat bicoloured gold nib is available in the widths M, B and F. The platinum-plated end cap protects the knob for the plunger mechanism, on which each pen is individually numbered.
An accompanying certificate bears Dorit Berger’s signature, attesting to the limited edition and certifying the quality and genuineness of the horsehair used. On request, a pen can be specially made from the tail hairs of your own horse.
The writing instruments, desk sets, and leather accessories in the Graf von Faber-Castell Collection are distinguished by particularly painstaking craftsmanship and above all a combination of precious metals and valuable types of wood. Since 2003 this claim has been emphasized by the "Pen of the Year" edition. Each pen is produced for twelve months using exclusive materials such as mammoth ivory, amber, or Indian satinwood in a luxurious setting. The numbers produced in each limited edition are announced at the end of the year.
